2013 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year regional winners announced

 
National winner to be named at US Youth Soccer Awards Gala

FRISCO, Texas (Dec. 20, 2013) — US Youth Soccer is pleased to announce the regional winners of the 2013 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year award. The Administrator of the Year award honors the extraordinary accomplishments in administration over a lifetime.

The national Administrator of the Year will be announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop in Philadelphia, held in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention.

Brief bios of the regional winners are below based on the submitted nomination forms: 
 
Region I – Joan Czach – West Babylon, N.Y.
Joan Czach became involved in youth soccer as a volunteer coach in 1978 and later worked as a treasurer, coaching educator, chairperson and director. She’s currently the executive director for the Long Island Junior Soccer League, which has grown under her leadership since 1997. She helped integrate technology for the league and simplified registration. Joan has given a lifetime to youth soccer and has been a key figure to the LIJSL for more than 15 years.
 
Region II – Sandi Hendricks – Springfield, Mo.
Along with husband Bruce, Sandi Hendricks was among the founders of Lake Country Soccer in 1983. In the 30 years since, she’s been an integral part of the club and influenced the lives of more than 100,000 players. She works as the club’s registrar and also helps with scheduling and keeping game and team data up-to-date. Sandi plans to retire in June after three decades of making sure every child has a place to play soccer.
 
Region III – Andrea Hall – Richardson, Texas
In her 32 years as an administrator at North Texas Premier Soccer Association, Andrea Hall has seen the league grow from 35 teams to more than 200. She is still the only employee of NTPSA and works numerous hours to help the league and its 5,000 players. She’s also served on the United States Adult Soccer Association Grants Committee and volunteered for 14 years as the ball kid coordinator for FC Dallas.
 
Region IV – Jodene Smith – Sandy, Utah
For several years, Jodene Smith has been a key part of the Utah Youth Soccer Association, working as the State Cup director, on the State Cup support committee and as a referee assignor for the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships and US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup. She’s currently the state’s registrar and has had a great impact on registration and Utah’s data management system, in addition to updating current policies and bylaws and attending several meetings each month in support of the Utah Youth Soccer Association.
 
The US Youth Soccer Workshop will be held in Philadelphia from January 15-19, 2014. The annual Workshop will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention. The week is designed to further the education of coaches, administrators, referees and enthusiasts involved in the game. For more information please visit USYouthSoccer.org/Workshop/NSCAA.
