West Des Moines Soccer Club donates
$2000 to the Greater Des Moines Junior Soccer League
as part of Kohl’s American Cup competition
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (October 23, 2012) – On Saturday, October 13, West Des Moines Soccer Club (WDMSC) Board President John Breed presented a check for $2,000 to Shelly Riekeberg, Secretary of the Greater Des Moines Junior Soccer League Board. WDMSC committed to the League $100 for every member league club that entered a team in the Kohl’s American Cup.
"Greater Des Moines Junior Soccer League has been a long-time leader in providing recreational-level soccer opportunities in Central Iowa. West Des Moines Soccer Club is appreciative of the opportunities for all members and we’re proud to be able to give something back to the League," stated Breed.
The Kohl’s American Cup offers recreational soccer players an opportunity to play in a high-quality tournament in a fun atmosphere, where the emphasis is placed on participation, rather than competition. This US Youth Soccer event is the largest recreational youth soccer festival in the United States. The Iowa Soccer Association has run a US Youth Soccer American Cup every year since 1992, with Kohl’s Department Stores as the most recent national sponsor.
