Iowa Soccer Championship Series (ISCS)
The Iowa Soccer Championship Series (ISCS) is considered the highest level of youth competition in the state and is the first step taken in US Youth Soccer's National Championship Series. Together, the Iowa State Cup and Iowa Presidents Cup are the ISCS. The purpose of these Tournaments is to identify the teams in each age division that will represent Iowa at the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships and Region 2 Presidents Cup.
In Iowa, the ISCS is conducted annually on dates and at sites determined by Iowa Soccer. 15U through 19U age groups hold their competition in the Fall. 13U and 14U age groups hold their competition the following Spring preceding the Region 2 Championships held in June.
The 2021 Spring ISCS will be held over the 3-day Memorial Day Weekend:
• May 29-31 – at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex
Resources needed by referees who will be officiating the Championship Series this Spring are located in Box in an ISCS folder. The information there includes:
• 2020-2021 IFAB Laws of the Game (LOTG) including Practical Guidelines for Referees
• Rules of Competition
• Report Codes for Cautionable and Sending-Off Offenses
• 4th Official Game Log
• Referee Report Forms
Refresher training on the revisions to the IFAB Laws of the Game for 2020-21 can be found at 2020-21 IFAB LOTG Changes Presentation with Video.
In addition, Just-in-Time (JIT) training for the Duties of the 4th Official and tie-breaking Kicks From The Mark (KFTM) can be found under Just-in-Time Training.
NOTE: Headsets are not permitted at ISCS matches since they are not allowed at Midwest Regionals nor the Region 2 Presidents Cup.
