All Day Event
Iowa Soccer's D. Camp is a wildly popular overnight experience for players in the eligible birth years. It's a residential, soccer-filled experience held on the campus of Grinnell College. D. Camp is intensive with technical, tactical, and physiological sessions, but also so much fun. Every year the 180 boys and 180 girls spots fill within minutes of registration opening. Maybe it's the 9v9 World Cup? Maybe the 4v4 competition? Or...the dining hall food...?!
D. Camp is open to players of any skill level and interest in the game. It is a chance for players to experience time away from home at an overnight camp, meet new friends, and see how their soccer skills compare to those of their peers. D. Camp is demanding, and it's always hot and humid in late July, but that shouldn't deter any player who wants to find out how they stack up against their peers, or who is unsure where they want their soccer career to go. This is a great opportunity for recreational through select players to be exposed to a higher level of coaching and expectations, to compete against some of the best players in the state, and to have fun while being challenged.
- On the soccer side, Iowa Soccer vets and hires the camp coaching staff.
- On the residential side, parents are able to volunteer as chaperones, serving a role that is integral to the positive experience for players.
- Campers are placed only two to a room in modern, air conditioned dorms. As the overnight experience is part of the "developmental" nature of the camp, all campers are required to stay on campus overnight - no exceptions.
- With nearly-new dining hall facilities, an indoor fieldhouse used for specific training, and some of the best fields in the state, the experience for campers, chaperones, and our coaching staff is simply second-to-none.
