ODP Tryouts & Registration, Selection

Iowa ODP

The purpose of Iowa ODP is to identify, train, and develop the most advanced players in Iowa to their full potential. Once identified these players are provided with the opportunity to compete with and against elite players within the Region and across the country. Iowa ODP is one step in Iowa Performance Pathway and the National Player Pathway.  ODP is a birth-year organized program.
 

Tryouts & Selection Details

• Conducted annually in August
• Tryouts are organized by birth year
• Iowa Soccer member players and non-member players are eligible to attend tryouts
• Tryouts fee is $45 
• Online registration prior to tryouts is highly recommended; walk-up registration is available, but t-shirt is not guaranteed

• During the tryout process players participate in a variety of technical and tactical training activities and then a small-sided or full game format. From these activities the coaching staff assesses each player and makes the final assessment regarding selection of the top 22-40 players in each age group.  These selections make up the age group "training pool".
• Age group training pools are announced on a date following tryouts.
