The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Are you age 13 or older, want to become a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) referee and start working youth matches? After completing the U.S. Soccer Grassroots Referee Course, you'll need to complete the in-person requirement.

Second step: In-person clinic

After you have completed all the online Learning Center assignments for the Grassroots Referee Course, you are ready to participate in the instructor-led, in-person clinic part of the course. In addition to the practical on-field exercises to be held, the topics that will be covered include:
 

  • How to get games / Working with Assignors 
  • Demosphere assigning tool overview
  • Referee / Assistant Referee Signals
  • US Soccer's Advice to New Referees video series
  • Laws modifications for short-sided play, i.e., 7v7 and 9v9
  • Offside Position / Offside Infraction / Offside Decisions
  • Annual Recertification & Registration
