DES MOINES, Iowa (May 25, 2022) – As Iowa Soccer moves forward its member services initiatives, a newly-created position of Member Services Program Manager has been filled. Mike Wilson has been tapped to work within the Member Services Department to deliver, administrate, and help lead programs and services.
Wilson comes to Iowa Soccer after serving in several capacities for Apex Soccer Academy while officially serving as its Technical Director. He has worked extensively and behind the scenes with the administrative responsibilities of his club in addition to the forward-facing coaching, team/parent, and volunteer/coach management aspects involved at the club level.
“Iowa Soccer is excited to welcome Mike to our staff as he brings a number of valuable perspectives that will help us and our members as we work to grow the game” shared Chief Member Services Officer Craig Winger. “Our Member Services Department will be engaging with our members daily, working to support them as well as working alongside them as we strive to provide a better experience for club volunteers and staff working behind the scenes, and for those utilizing our services and programs.”
Wilson says of his new gig, “I’m certainly excited to join Iowa Soccer as a Program Manager and look forward to engaging with and supporting members at all levels across the state.”
In addition to being a leader in the youth soccer community in Central Iowa, Wilson will draw upon his experiences serving as Simpson College’s Head Men’s Soccer Coach and working in the corporate realm for Nationwide and put his advanced degree in Sport Management to work in the pursuit of service to members.
While you may see Mike here and there in the coming weeks with an Iowa Soccer badge on, his focus through the tryouts period will be helping his club Apex Soccer Academy in its transition. Welcome, Mike, and see you soon!
