Marketing and Communication Coordinator (Part-Time) 

About Iowa Soccer Association: 

The Iowa Soccer Association is a governing body for soccer in Iowa as part of US Soccer, US Youth Soccer and US Adult Soccer, dedicated to promoting and developing the sport at all levels. We foster a positive and inclusive environment for players, coaches, referees, and fans across the state. We are committed to growing the game and providing opportunities for all to participate. 

Job Summary: 

The Iowa Soccer Association is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communication Coordinator to oversee and enhance our online presence. This part-time position will play a key role in engaging our community, promoting our programs, and increasing awareness of soccer in Iowa. This role will have a flexible schedule and will include some nights and weekends. This position reports to the Chief Member Services Officer. 

Responsibilities

Social media coordination: 

  • Develop and implement engaging social media strategies across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube). 
  • Work with program leads and existing contractor to create and curate compelling content, including graphics, videos, stories, and written posts. 
  • Schedule and publish content, ensuring consistent and timely delivery. 
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers. 

Content creation in coordination with program leads and current contractor: 

  • Develop and create engaging content for various digital platforms, including blog posts, articles, and press releases. 
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to gather information and stories. 
  • Ensure all content is consistent with the Iowa Soccer Association brand and messaging. 
  • Coordinates and organizes timing and method of delivery of content. 

Email marketing in coordination with current contractor: 

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to promote events, programs, and news. 
  • Support management of email lists and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. 
  • Create visually appealing and informative email templates. 
  • Track email campaign performance and analyze key metrics. 

Coordination of partner deliverables: 

  • Manage Iowa Soccer’s partnership CRM. 
  • Ensure marketing deliverables are met per agreements. 
  • Create content to meet agreement obligations as needed. 
  • Execute deliverables provided by partners as per agreements. 

Digital advertising in coordination with program leads and current contractor: 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of digital advertising campaigns on social media and other platforms. 
  • Monitor campaign performance and make adjustments as needed. 

Other Duties: 

  • Support management of website including content, updates, and enhancements. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices. 
  • Assist with other marketing and communication initiatives as needed. 
  • Availability occasional nights and weekends to create content at Iowa Soccer events. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in marketing, preferably in the sports industry or non-profit sector. 
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices. 
  • Experience with website management and content creation. 
  • Proficiency in email marketing software and analytics tools. 
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Passion for soccer is a plus! 

Compensation: 

Hourly wage commensurate with experience. This is a part-time position with an expected average of approximately 10 hours per week with potential for growth.
