Following extensive review and discussion, US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have collectively decided to move to an age
group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31, starting with the 2026-27 season/registration year.
This change was made based on additional critical feedback, data, and expert input to better align players with their school-grade peers. This age group player formation will be the most inclusive and help increase participation.

If you need help setting up your PlayMetrics account, please reach out to Casey Betting (Membership Operations & Compliance Director).

***PLEASE NOTE this doesn’t mean you need to use Playmetrics as your club registration system. This will just get your state/governing side setup for the Fall allowing you to gain rosters, player cards, register players with the state (and by extension US Soccer) and find and pay invoices.***
The following information will be helpful in completing the team application:
- Know your team make-up, competition level, and division placement options
- We will schedule within age & division as much as possible
- Occasionally, we may schedule cross-divisional to help with travel time / cost
- DIV 1: May cross play with DIV 2, but never DIV 3
- DIV 2: May cross play with DIV 1 and DIV 3
- DIV 3: May cross play with DIV 2, but never DIV 1
- Know your team availability / coach blocks
- All teams are allowed to blackout dates and the number of dates will be included in the registration process
- Blocks for shared coaches and/or shared players
- Teams planning to participate in the Presidents Cup / State Cup, must be available for the dates of competition.

General assigning contact
If you do not know who the assignor(s) are in your area, or are unsure where to get games, then use the online form to connect with the IRC
Iowa Soccer is working with the Iowa Referee Committee (IRC) to provide the best environment to train, develop, and maintain not only our players but also our referees. If you’d like to provide them with feedback please take a minute after your match to complete the form below. This form can also be used to document missing referee assignments in ISL matches.
State League matches should be played as scheduled as there are a number of unique and challenging variables that have an impact on creating a schedule. These include the top three principles that must be balanced in order to create a match-up and then schedule a time/date/field: team availability, team blocks, field availability.
- Rescheduling is NOT a feature of the State League, it is an EXCEPTION
- Sometimes unavoidable circumstances arise and it is in that spirit that a reschedule is an option
- If an exception is needed
- You must submit form below no later than one week prior to the originally-scheduled match
